Short-Term Running Goals:

In 2009 I am hoping to break 26.5 minutes on a road 5K, 60 minutes on a road 10K, 2:15 for a half marathon and 4:40 for a marathon.

Long-Term Running Goals:

I would like to get my body as strong and healthy as possible and keep running for many more years. I want to be able to be outside running in my beloved mountains as much as possible. I also plan to become the best runner that my body will allow - given my free time, age and desire to run for the rest of my life.

Personal:

I am single with two grown children and two grandchildren. Books and chocolate and working out are my passions. I spend my money making hours playing with databases and testing computer applications.

I was looking at my mileage from last week and I think it was my second or third longest week ever.

I am really hurting today.  My lungs are really sore from all the heavy breathing yesterday and my quads and glutes are totally trashed.  I took the puppy on a one mile walk this morning and that was painful.

When I took a shower I felt a burning sensation in my butt and looked and found that I have a fist size bruise and several cuts in my left buttock.  I slammed down pretty hard at mile 7 on the ice and that must be where that happened.  Darn - the glory of blood in a trail race and only my compression shorts knew it.

Wow! I think your lucky that you can still walk after that one. But I admire you for it nonetheless.

Thanks, Steve. You said I needed to work on my endurance. Does this count? LOL

Battle wounds! WOW! Cool :) I am really impressed that you can move at all. That lucky puppy- a walk! Be careful. Soreness can mask injury ;)
