I'm too tired right now to post much.  Please check my Adventures In Running blog in a couple of hours for more details.

Started a little before 5:30 a.m.  I was in Utah County before 3 hours and right after half marathon distance.  Passed a marathon about 5:45.  Passed 50K about 6:55.  Finished at 7:40.  I am totally spent right now - but nothing hurt except my abdomen occasionally when I coughed - so I quit coughing.

Tarzan is officially nuts and off to take a shower.

Later - finally picked up some dinner and ate a can of chili and 3 glasses of milk. Helped get rid of the 'I feel like puking feeling.'  Now I know why I had that feeling - I just calculated that I ate only about 1700 calories before, during and in the hour after my run.

Just finished 13 minutes in an ice bath and am ready to crash.

From Marion on Sat, Feb 21, 2009 at 16:19:35

HOLY CRAP... I mean LOLLIPOPS! that is one amazing run! You are the woman! Did you take an ice bath? You are really one heck of a runner!!!

From luzylew on Sat, Feb 21, 2009 at 17:09:22

Whaaat? Did you do this for a race? I want to grow up to be you. If I ever break 26.2 I'd buy a billboard advertising it. You guys and your miles. It's astonishing.

From Marion on Sat, Feb 21, 2009 at 17:15:01

Maurine.... where are you??? Are you OK? Just post a little...."I'm OK!" We need to make sure we don't have to send in the dogs! If you are atrophied in the tub, we'll bring a harness and a team of rescue personnel! Do you think if Twilight got hungry enough, he'd gnaw on your finger? ( I was going to say arm, but he is so tiny ;)

From Smooth on Sat, Feb 21, 2009 at 17:20:08

The first thing I asked Kelli was: "Did anyone get Maurine's cell?" We were definitely thinking about you. I have total confidence that you will finish awesomely. But I have to confess that I was really worried about the traffic you were encountering. I can't wait to hear/read about the whole run. YOU ROCK TARZAN WOMAN!!! SIMPLY CRACK ME UP KINDA NUTS!!! I hope you're taking a nap and baby that abs.

I'm snuggled up in bed and going to post all about my run on my other blog in a few minutes.

Kelli - Thanks! I was hoping to see some of you when I was running through Lehi - but no luck.

Marion - the ice bath will be tonight and tomorrow night. I took a hot shower at my dad's house to quit shaking.

Luz - this was a combination of 'can I do this?' and seeing how I would do on a 50 miler in 5 weeks. This was my longest run ever.

Marion - I'm OK. My dad dropped me off in Sandy a few minutes ago. Twilight is not happy about me leaving her in her cage for a couple more hours - but I'll make it up to her tonight and tomorrow.

Smooth - didn't you get my PM with my cell phone number? American Fork was the only bad city for traffic.

Leslie & Marcia (my sister) - your calls kept me going. Thanks so much!

I am so freaking proud of you I could scream, I did scream, me and Harold and my mom and dad, we were all screaming "Go Maurine!!!!" I have talked about you to my family all day long and thought of you every minute. You were fabulous and doing it by yourelf is amazing. I REALLY want to do that with you!!! Maybe in July or Sept, since we don't have a marathon in those months. I am SO flipping proud of you!!!!!!! Rest today and tomorrow and have a silly lala week next week!!!!!

From Maurine/Tarzan on Sat, Feb 21, 2009 at 18:34:42

I know - I loved hearing everybody cheering for me in your car (or wherever you were).

Any time, lady - we can take it on (maybe I should wait a week or two).

I actually think this is my 2nd highest week of running ever.

From Smooth on Sun, Feb 22, 2009 at 12:50:41

Maurine,

I just read your adventure in your other blog and couldn't leave comments there. Kept having "incorrect password." Anyhow, I'll leave my comment here:

THANKS for sharing your adventure!!! I hung onto every word and could just picture you chugging along on them Utah roads. CONGRATULATIONS for this monumental accomplishment!!! You are AWESOME!!! What a confidence booster and body conditioning for your upcoming 50 miler!!! You will have a much lighter load and people to run with. You will do GREAT on the Buffalo Run. FANTASTIC run and INCREDIBLE journey. Recover well with lotsa nutrition that are loaded with anti-oxidants today. Again, you're AWESOME!!!!

From Kelli on Sun, Feb 22, 2009 at 13:57:25

You are amazing!

From Deborah on Sun, Feb 22, 2009 at 14:20:29

Geez! That is some good mileage you put it!! How are you feeling?

It sounds as though you are already ready to run that 50 miler!

From jona on Sun, Feb 22, 2009 at 16:04:49

Good miles. SQL hu? Didn't know. Good stuff. Can speed many hours/miles mulling over how to better optimize a query.

Impressive miles!!!!!

From Maurine/Tarzan on Sun, Feb 22, 2009 at 19:36:53

Thank you Smooth, Kelli, Deborah and Jon. It was a great day and I am very proud of it. I'm still a bit in shock at how fast I was running considering the conditions and how long I ran. I know it is not fast for some of you - but I was very impressed with myself.

And - I know that humility and meekness are what we should strive for - I've decided that I ROCK!
