Post race follow-up:

I am still pretty impressed with myself for finishing this race.  I learned an awful lot about myself and endurance during this event.

I agree with Craig - I am not a big gatorade fan anymore.  S-Caps saved me when I couldn't stomach anything other than water.

The body can survive an awful long time running on just water.

I have one remaining blister under the toenail of my second toe on the left foot.  I keep draining it, but it is painful to wear anything other than crocs that put pressure on it.

I had some stiffness on Saturday, but none really since then. The left knee twinges a little when I keep it bent for a long time, but resting it makes it feel much better.

I walked the dog for a half mile on Sunday and felt really tired. Yesterday we went 3/4 of a mile and I felt better. Hopefully, we can do 1-2 miles tonight.

Spoiled myself last night and got my hair cut and colored.  I feel like a new person.

WOW! I am so amazed at how little soreness you are all reporting. I would think I'd be a cripple for at least a week!! I hope the miles get easier tonight. You should put a pic of your new 'do!!

FYI: You are a new person - you are a 50 miler. That makes you exponentially more awesome than you were before. I hope you continue to get better. The tendon in the back of my left knee still hurts pretty bad.

YAY!!! Sounds like you're recovering nicely! YES! You're a 50miler! We want pic of your new do!
