2 miles walking the dog this morning after baking 2 cakes for my nephew's mission farewell and before heading up for the farewell.  It was cold out.  Ankle feeling okay after yesterday's run.

Really tired when I went to bed, but got an emergency IT phone call that kept me awake another 2 hours.

PM

45 minutes actual workout time on my Wii Fit.

67 minutes on the stationary bike.

Rachel and I have been sharing emails this evening. Sad story of a person we know who passed away unexpectedly on Christmas Eve at 38 years old.  He had so much to live for but wouldn't take care of his Type I Diabetes and drank too much and ended up having some kind of heart failure.  That is way too young to die!  I've been passing along memories to my ex-husband who is the main speaker at his funeral.

RHR 58.  Woke up sick.  Decided it would be best to take a rest day.  After work I took a nice nap.  Between that, vitamins and Emergen-C, I think I kicked the virus out pretty quickly.

RHR 48. Feel a lot better this morning.  Did some calculations and if I run 13.11 miles in the next 2 days I will pass 1600 miles for the year.

PM - 5.75 miles on the treadmill.  Had to stop to get to a viewing.

RHR 49.

Needed to get in 7.5 miles today. Started my run at 2:30.  It was sunny and gorgeous out and I was taking off layers.  First two miles around Wheeler Farm.  Running through the snow was fun, but my achilles was making little whimpers, so thought I would try a new route from there.  Of course, shortly after that it got cloudy and started cooling down.  Ran down 9th East from Wheeler Farm to the Van Winkle. Then turned onto Van Winkle and ran up it to Golds Gym. Did a quick pit stop and water break there.  Headed back over to 9th East on 5600 South and took that to Vine Street, then over to 9th again and back to Wheeler Farm.  Nothing spectacular but I passed the 1600 mile marker.  Haven't used cross training miles in months as part of my running miles.

Stopped by Wasatch Running and picked up a pack of heel inserts.  I've been reading that raising the heel takes pressure off the achilles and they agreed with me, so will give this a try.

Later - if I get ambitious - I might do Wii Fit.  I will be blogging my year end summary in my other blog, so check it out later tonight.

Thanks to all my wonderful running friends for supporting me this year!

Slept in - sure felt good.

The dog and I did an easy 2.5 mile recovery run.  Tried the heel inserts and that seemed to help.

50 minutes on the Wii Fit.

Achilles was a little sore today, so went to the gym and did 120 minutes on the stationary bikes.
