Did a nice easy recovery run this morning.  I ran up past my sister's former house and for some reason the 3 extra uphills only gave me one extra downhill.  It started getting icier after mile 5 and had to watch my footing and slow down then. About 6.5 miles the quads and hip flexors started hurting. At 7 I was out of energy. From 7-8 is almost all gradual uphill and I wanted to stop sooooo badly.

8.25 miles 1:35:02 total  Avg 11:31   Max 6:13

PM: after a nap, I started walking on the treadmill reading a book - 4 miles - but not counting it towards my running total

Happy New Year to One and All!

AAAEEEAAAAAEEAAAEEAAAAAAAAA! Tarzan yell! Girl you are on a freaking roll! I can tell if I am going to be your running buddy I am going to have to kick it up a knotch!!! Good Job!!!! I hope you had a fun New Years Day!!!!! Hey, we went to the SL Burger Company and loved it!!! I had the turkey burger and it was so yummy and moist, not diet foodie like at all and then I had a few sweet patato fries, and they were not greasy at all. I figured it was a real healthy lunch and SO GOOD! Thanks for the recomendation!

Thanks, Kelli! Same to you.

Les - Hey - you only have to kick it up if you want to. I can always run ahead and do speedwork, then come back and run with you.

That is a good restaurant isn't it. I'm cooking bean and ham soup and you make me want to toss it in the garbage disposal. :)

From leslie on Thu, Jan 01, 2009 at 20:53:12

Bring me the soup, don't chuck it down the disposal. I love soup! I am glad you are not going to ditch me, I would be lost without you!!!! I am inspired by you and just might have to try and get faster myself!!!!!

That hill mystery is something unique to UT. I swear there are runs I go on here that are uphill both on the way out and on the way back...

From Kelli on Fri, Jan 02, 2009 at 14:58:41

Ah---and I thought it was just me that was running up hill both ways!!!

From tarzan on Fri, Jan 02, 2009 at 15:16:57

I feel much better now. I used to think I was going nuts that all the uphills didn't turn into downhills.

Smokin' run Maurine! Have fun and I love our new bet-oath of running sisterhood! Hey- it's Friday- where is your run today????

From tarzan on Fri, Jan 02, 2009 at 15:28:36

Chill - lady (then you won't keep melting). I was playing with my puppy this morning. I still have 10.5 hours left in the day and actually have to finish work first.

From Marion on Fri, Jan 02, 2009 at 15:30:56

OK ok! You can take your sweet time with your run. Ive got to get them in or the family takes over my life. There is only a small window of opportunity for me and the running in my life. I am not quite a lady of leisure yet ;)
