I spent last night organizing my paperwork and office and cleaning up my house.  I then slept 10 hours to make up for not sleeping a lot the night before. So - woke up to the dog barking just in time to shower and go to work.

I'm just wondering about how I can adjust my life to still have a life and get all my workouts in.  If I go to the gym tonight - I will be doing cardio for 1-1.5 hours and lifting weights for an hour. I still have to eat, walk the dog, play with the dog and try to get some scripture and computer studying in.  I look at some of your training out there and am just going wow - how do I keep on handling all of this.

PM - ran .8 miles with Twilight

Tried a new route tonight. Ran nice and slow - which was good - because there were a lot of uphills. I went up 7th East to 90th South. East on 90th past where it become 9400 South and up to Highland Drive. North on Highland to Creek Dr. Back west on Creek Drive until the little road going up, up, up to 1300 East. Over to Gold's Gym. 6.4 miles at this point in time.

Worked legs hard for an hour. Ran home drinking a protein shake for dinner.  Finished at 8.2 miles.

Did 35 pushups in 5 sets with Twilight running up and down my back. Had to do a lot of them as girls pushups because I had a groin muscle that didn't like men's pushups.  Did the ab workout  from Runner's World.

Going to bed. Les is coming by early tomorrow morning.

Sounds like a juggling act! I think you hit the nail on the head though, by being organized, that will save you alot of time.

From Marion on Tue, Feb 03, 2009 at 11:03:28

I dunno, I have to quit worrying about it all. What gets done, gets done. I have had to cut out a few of my other hobbies like working in the family history library and singing in my women's choir. We kept working in the temple, but had our shift cut in half to better accommodate our family. I pray a TON to see where I can cut and what I shouldn't. The answers are some time unconventional, but they work out great :) You will figure it all out as you pray and earnestly try to do your very best! xoxoxoxo- I need another brownie!

From Smooth on Tue, Feb 03, 2009 at 14:20:48

Wow, you do have a very busy and full life. Like Marion said, I think my days go better with the "first thing first" attitude. Prayer is the first thing I do when I roll out of bed. I read my scriptures while I eat breakfast. You will have the spirit's prompting to guide you and peace to know you're doing the right things.

We all have nervous break downs! Actually, I look at what everyone does and I wonder if i really care about improving enough to put so much time into it!

You are doing great, and taking care of yourself has to be a priority, right???

I just read your blog Kelli and thought what you just wrote, it sounded so intense, I can't imagine doing that, I should go out and run it is beautiful but I am going to take a nap. Some days, you just don't have it in you. Maurine, you will figure it out.

From tarzan on Tue, Feb 03, 2009 at 16:38:22

If I wasn't working 50-60 hours a week it wouldn't be so bad. And I no longer have an hour commute each way on top of it. Maybe I'll just give up and go to bed.

Sound like a plan!

From Smooth on Tue, Feb 03, 2009 at 23:43:49

Maurine,

WAY to get out there! NICE run and mileage and GREAT JOB on the push ups. Was it dark when you were running all over those eastside hilly streets? You are a womanimal!!! Get some well deserved sleep so you can give Leslie the "boot camp drill" so so so early in the morning. You're amazing!

From tarzan on Wed, Feb 04, 2009 at 10:06:07

Thanks, Smooth! It wasn't dark when I started, but it was later on - so I pulled my handy dandy head light out of a pocket.

I told Les today - I got home from work about 4:45 - ran the dog for a while. Got changed, headed out, got home around 8 p.m. and worked out to Biggest Loser, took a bath and was in bed by 9:30. No wonder I have no spare time!
