I'm feeling pretty crappy today, so took the day off sick from work. Walked the puppy 3 slow miles this morning trying to wear her out. I think it worked on me. Was able to determine a lot on different surfaces which leg muscles are used because of the way I could feel each muscle on the grade and uphills/downhills.

Finished writing up Saturday's race with pictures: http://adventures-in-running-with-maurine.blogspot.com/

Maurine, I hope you start feeling better. You ran a very tough race on Saturday. I would feel like crap, too!

How are you feeling today? Did you do anything fun yesterday on your day off?

You were right, I was posting on the wrong day. Duh. I just read your race report from Saturday. WOW!! I didn't know you were doing a 28 miler just 2 weeks after the Utah Valley Marathon. I can't believe you can do that! I don't think I underestimated you ever, but that is pretty amazing. You are an Ultra Marathoner! No wonder they call you Miles :)

P.S. you totally deserve a sick day.

My legs kind of objected to two races in two weeks. And I forgot (until I had lots of time to think on Saturday) that I registered for a 10K this next Saturday. My legs may up and leave me if I am not careful.

Miles,

I'm still in AWE of your Sat. ultramarathon. Baby all the sore body parts. Continue to recover with rest, walk, eat good quality protein and hydrate, hydrate, hydrate. Take NSAIDS with food. You're getting stronger!

From Maurine/Tarzan on Tue, Jun 30, 2009 at 23:08:12 from 97.117.64.141

Thanks, Smooth. Miles is a pretty psycho lady. I try and keep her under control - but somedays she takes over and creeps out. If I do the race again next year I will probably be doing a lot of uphill/downhill running in MillCreek Canyon to improve my endurance and ability to push on hills.

Twilight keeps massaging my legs whether I want her to or not by jumping on me and walking on them. At least now I know longer yell when she jumps when I am not looking :)
